Sign up for Lovable

What you will learn

  • How to create and secure your Lovable account
  • What a workspace is and how to find your project
  • The difference between being invited and being the owner
  • Where to look for account settings and billing

Step by step: getting in the door

Take these steps slowly. There is no rush, and you cannot break your website by creating an account.

  1. 1Open your web browser and go to lovable.dev (use the gold “Sign up for Lovable” button above).
  2. 2Choose the option to sign up and create an account. Use an email address you check often and expect to keep for years, ideally your business email.
  3. 3If Lovable sends you a verification email, open it and click the link inside. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.
  4. 4Log in. Use a strong, unique password (Module 10 explains how), and turn on extra security if it is offered.
  5. 5Look around your workspace. This is your home base where projects are listed.
  6. 6Find your website project. If you do not see it, your developer may still need to share it with you.
  7. 7Bookmark lovable.dev so you can find it again easily.
  8. 8Find your account settings and billing area so you know where they are, even if you do not need them yet.

What is a workspace?

A workspace is like a filing cabinet. Projects (websites) live inside it. A workspace can belong to one person or be shared by a team.

Billing and plans are usually connected to the workspace, which is why it matters whose workspace your website lives in.

Invited is not the same as owning

If your developer invites you to collaborate, you can usually see and edit the project. That is like being handed a spare key.

Owning the project is different. It means the project lives in a workspace you control and you are responsible for its billing. Think of it as having your name on the deed.

An invitation does not automatically transfer ownership or billing. Your developer must confirm the correct transfer process for your situation.

Important: Do not ask anyone to delete the original project until you have confirmed your copy works.

Verify in your Lovable account

Sharing and moving projects between workspaces depend on your plan and setup. Verify in your Lovable account.

Common mistakes

Signing up with a personal email you might stop using.

Use a business email you plan to keep. Losing access to the email can mean losing access to the account.

Assuming you own the website because you were invited.

Ask your developer to confirm whose workspace the project is in and who pays for it.

Reusing a password from another site.

Use a unique password and a password manager. Turn on two-factor authentication where available.
